We also offer self collected mineral specimens from mines and locations in the Western United States, not offered anywhere else. New Arrivals Page 3 has been updated with a suite of mixed worldwide minerals in miniature to cabinet sizes. Some rare localities are represented in this colorful assortment of specimens. July 1, 2020 New Arrivals Pages 1 and 2 have been updated with a suite of quartz crystals on calcite. These are from the Virginia Foothills of the Virginia Range in Reno, Nevada. An odd occurrence. Scalenohedral calcite in crystals up to several inches long occur in veins in a granite window in the volcanics. The large calcites do not have any quartz associated. The smaller calcites do. The quartz occurs as little starburst clusters on the tips of the calcite crystals, and as druses on the matrix. All are gemmy with brilliant luster, and some pieces have drusy micro crystals also for added sparkle.
